The Virgen Pobre Cooperative made, using the “champanoise” method, almost 10.000 bottles of their new Bahia de Denia Brut Nature
Marina Alta wines currently on offer can now count on a new advocate. BodegasXalo, or the Virgen Pobre Cooperative, yesterday presented to the public their new Bahia de Denia Brut Nature, a sparkling wine created 100% from the Muscat grape variety, typical of the region.
The oenologist responsible for the sparkling wine emphasises that this new product has been made following the traditional method otherwise known as “champanoise”. The main difference is that this wine, with its fine bubbles and elegance, is produced with “the best Muscat grapes”. As well as stressing that it had “been fermented in a wine cellar for a minimum of nine months”.
Josep Gisbert, director of the Museu Arquelógic in Dénia, was responsible for researching the Marina Alta’s connection to wines and locations. For this Gisbert reviewed Iberian villages from the Roman times.
The presentation of the Bahía de Dénia Brut Nature was held at the CdT in Denia. The spokesmen for the centre, Pepe Vidal, stressed that the CdT “has always supported oenology and the wine culture”. The president of BodegasXalo, Jose Juan Reus, gave thanks to the mayors of Lliber and Xalo as well as councillors from the various villages, restaurants and associations in the area.
