Modernising the winery built in the 1960’s

aire-00The winery continues its modernization and innovation. We are now thinking about a renovation of the premises, in particular in the winery shop, to modernize it and satisfy the half a million clients that visit this space each year.

The building was constructed in the early 60’s. Throughout the years, the winery has adapted itself to new technologies, and from those first wines and mistelas, which were exclusively sold in bulk, we have moved onto the bottling of high quality wines, which the visitor can taste everyday in our premises.

The origin and the quality of the wines are guaranteed by the strict compliance of the regulatory norms demanded by the Alicante Designation of Origin, and controlled by the Regulatory Council of the Province.

The cooperative winery, with over 55 years of history, has moved from a few wine making farmers who in the 60’s joined forces, to over 400 partners and to the cultivation of nearly 400 hectares.

The recently concluded season has left a harvest reduced by 40%, due to the poor weather conditions suffered in the Jalon Valley.

Nevertheless, they have still gathered all the varieties which are harvested in the valley, an approximate total of 2.200.000 kilograms of grapes.

The lands that supply the cooperative and which are owned by its partners are mostly located in Jalon, Lliber and Alcalali, but the partners also own land in other neighboring areas which bestows a regional character to this cooperative winery, and it is positioned as the top winery of the region. The premises are in Jalon, on the way out of the village, opposite the Xopar.
