Tasting notes

1962 is a tribute in the form of a wine to the Bodega's history, a 100% Giró red, made from carefully selected grapes grown on the vines which originated the Winery.

After 13 months in French Oak barrels, 1962 has become a true gift for the senses.

To the eye, it is of an intense, bigarreau cherry red colour, of high intensity, with a slightly purplish edge, glycerine feel, with a dense tear with slow fall.

In nose, it is powerful and expressive, the first impression is its generous fruity flavour, reminiscing ripe dark fruit without reaching a compote stage and hints of red fruits, after generous aeration, the following flavours arrive simultaneously, that of scrub herbs, a flavour reminiscent of metal and minerals, as well as hints of spices such as black pepper and liquorice, providing a fresh and very interesting result.

Medium to strong body in mouth, medium duration, with a slightly bitter final flavour. In retronasal there is a concordance of the aromas mentioned in the smelling phase, but with a particularly important role played by strong notes of red fruit, combined with a reminiscence of caramelised sugar. A good wine, for a long drink, very easy to drink, of good personality and has its own strong identity.
